After another brilliant campaign between our posts, David Raya has finished second in the voting for our men’s Player of the Season award for 2025/26.
Our Spanish shot-stopper polled a massive 40% of the votes to come away with a silver medal to add to his Golden Glove, Premier League title-winning campaign as he continues to produce heroics in our net.
David kept 19 clean sheets in the league to finish well ahead of his rival shot-stoppers in the race for the Golden Glove, with Manchester City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma four behind in second spot. That saw our custodian claim the prize for the third straight season, joining an elite list of goalkeepers to achieve the feat: Pepe Reina, Joe Hart and Ederson.
His 19 shutouts were also the joint-most of any Arsenal goalkeeper in a single Premier League campaign, matching David Seaman’s totals in 1993/94 and 1998/99.
On top of that, David kept nine clean sheets in 14 Champions League appearances as we made it all the way to the final, where he also saved a penalty in the shootout loss to Paris Saint-Germain. In fact, no goalkeeper kept more clean sheets for a big five European league side in 2025/26 than David’s total of 28.

He played in 37 out of our 38 Premier League games en route to the title, while he missed just one of our European matches, giving way to Kepa Arrizabalaga in our final league and Champions League league phase games respectively.
A string of spectacular saves caught the eye during that time, including Save of the Month contenders against Manchester United, Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion, for which he won December’s prize. His exploits also saw him nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award in March.
His seasonal haul can be boosted as he has been included on a six-player shortlist for the PFA Player of the Season award, while he was in the running for the Premier League’s equivalent. He is also hoping to return home from the World Cup with a winner’s medal, having been included in Spain’s squad for the finals.
