David Raya has been nominated for the Premier League’s Save of the Season award thanks to his stunning stop against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Our Golden Glove-winning goalkeeper won December’s Save of the Month award with his crucial fingertip stop in our 2-1 win at home to the Seagulls.
He flew to his right, stretching out his right hand to deny Yankubah Minteh’s curling effort, which was destined for the top left corner.
With December’s award, Raya went joint top of the leaderboard for most Save of the Month winners, alongside Andre Onana and Jordan Pickford, who all have three each.
For the Save of the Season award, Raya is going up against saves from James Trafford (Manchester City), Gianluigi Donnarumma (Manchester City), Martin Dubravka (Burnley), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Alphonse Areola (West Ham United), Aaron Ramsdale (Newcastle United), Karl Darlow (Leeds United) and Antonin Kinsky (Tottenham Hotspur).
