Gunners sporting director Andrea Berta was the man responsible for bringing Alvarez to Atletico, before his own switch to north London.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Barcelona and Chelsea have also emerged as possible suitors for Alvarez. However, the forward, who has netted 17 goals this campaign, may be persuaded to stay with the La Liga club as Atletico are willing to make him one of their highest earners.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">According to <a aria-label=\"Mundo DeportivoLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mundodeportivo.com\/futbol\/atletico-madrid\/20260326\/1004159868\/atletico-contrataca-oferton-julian-interes-barca.html\" rel=\"nofollow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">Sports World<\/a>Atletico are prepared to satisfy Alvarez&#8217;s financial demands after initial hesitation, with a proposed wage packet of around \u20ac10million (\u00a38m) annually &#8211; a rise from his current \u20ac7m (\u00a36m) earnings.
