Roma currently sit 6th in Serie A, trailing clubs such as Inter, Napoli, Como, and Juventus. They are aiming for a spot in the Champions League, being just 4 points behind the qualification zone.<\/p>\n

A major factor behind their strong performances this season is goalkeeper Mile Svilar<\/a><\/strong>. The 26-year-old Serbian shot-stopper has attracted attention from Chelsea<\/a><\/strong>who see him as a potential solution to their ongoing goalkeeper challenges.<\/p>\n

Mile Svilar, who transferred from Benfica to Roma in 2022, can be considered a late bloomer in top European football. His impact in Portugal was limited, having played only seven league matches before his move.<\/p>\n

Although he grew up in Belgium and represented their youth national teams, Svilar made his senior international debut for Serbia in 2022. To date, he has earned just one cap for the Serbian national team.<\/p>\n

Since Thibaut Courtois\u2019<\/strong> departure in 2018, Chelsea has struggled to find a goalkeeper who consistently performs at the same elite level. The current roster of Robert Sanchez, Filip J\u00f6rgensen, Gabriel Slonina,<\/strong> and Teddy Sharman-Lowe<\/strong> reflects a mix of youth and experience, but none have yet fully established themselves as a top-class, world-leading goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

Robert Sanchez, for example, has shown promise and reliability during his time at Brighton and now Chelsea, but he is still developing consistency at the highest level. Filip J\u00f6rgensen and Teddy Sharman-Lowe are younger prospects with potential, while Gabriel Slonina is viewed as a highly rated talent but still very early in his career. Chelsea may need to continue investing in or developing a goalkeeper who can match the impact Courtois had for the club.<\/p>\n
