Arsenal continue to chase a transfer for Real Madrid’s V\u00edctor Valdepe\u00f1as for the summer. <\/strong><\/p>\n The defender came up through the ranks of Real Madrid\u2019s youth system and has already caught Arsenal\u2019s attention. He was dubbed \u2018The chosen one\u2019 and face of Madrid\u2019s La F\u00e1brica youth system.<\/span><\/p>\n Valdepe\u00f1as made his first team debut in Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Deportivo Alav\u00e9s in December.<\/p>\n Xabi Alonso was then in charge and utilised him as a left-back instead of his preferred role as a central defender. That\u2019s his only appearance for the first team.<\/p>\n However, he has been featuring regularly for Real Madrid Castilla (reserve team) in the third division.
