Myles Lewis-Skelly is good enough to start for most Premier League teams, but he’s not good enough to start for Arsenal. He doesn’t look out of place when he does play, but it’s the harsh reality that Riccardo Calafiori is above him in the pecking order. Barring injury, that won’t change. <\/p>\n

Calafiori has been a mainstay ever since he joined Arsenal. Where Lewis-Skelly was afforded some gametime during his absences last season, it has been a complete turnaround this season. <\/p>\n

After the international break, Myles Lewis-Skelly will be hopeful to start the away FA Cup fixture at Southampton. While it’s a quarterfinal, and Mikel Arteta won’t rotate too much, there is no reason why he shouldn’t start Lewis-Skelly. He is one of those players that nearly makes the team, and those players are likely to rotate in this weekend. <\/p>\n

After that, Arsenal turn their attention to the Sporting double-header in the Champions League, with a pivotal Premier League tie against second-place Man City wedged between. <\/p>\n

Arsenal fans will hope to see as much of Lewis-Skelly as possible before the season ends. It’s through no fault of his own that he can’t make the team as much as he did when first bursting onto the scene. <\/p>\n

However, after the season ends, the future is in the spotlight for Lewis-Skelly. Man United is his possible next destination, and while there’s a rivalry as old as time, Arsenal fans know it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that one of their most promising academy graduates ends up at Old Trafford next season. <\/p>\n
