The Arsenal striker only has a year or so left on his contract at the Emirates Stadium, despite having previously voiced his desire to put pen to paper on new terms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">In an interview with <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/ge.globo.com\/futebol\/times\/palmeiras\/noticia\/2026\/03\/31\/gabriel-jesus-se-declara-ao-palmeiras-e-revela-desejo-de-voltar-penso-todos-os-dias.ghtml?utm_source=Twitter&amp;utm_medium=Social&amp;utm_content=Esporte&amp;utm_campaign=globoEsporte\" rel=\"nofollow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">Globo Esporte<\/a> during the international break, Jesus claimed Palmeiras remains close to his heart. He made a name for himself as one of the most exciting young players in South America during his time with the Brazilian giants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">In August 2016, Manchester City forked out \u00a327m, plus add-ons, for the then-19-year-old, beating a host of top European clubs to his signature. Then, in July 2022, Arsenal prised Jesus from the Etihad Stadium, wrapping up a deal worth \u00a345m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">When quizzed on his boyhood club, as quoted by <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/sportwitness.co.uk\/my-wife-can-back-that-up-arsenal-star-flirts-with-transfer-trying-to-keep-everyone-happy\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">Sport Witness<\/a>the Brazil international said: &#8220;I manage to follow them a lot. Obviously, I have the dream of returning one day to play, not to end my career.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;I think about going back every day \u2013 my wife can back that up,&#8221; added Jesus, whose contract at Arsenal will expire in June 2027. &#8220;I came up in 2014 with Palmeiras fighting not to go down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;Then we won the Brazilian Cup and the league after 22 years. What they\u2019ve built since then is history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">At the end of last year, Mikel Arteta ruled out the prospect of the 28-year-old leaving in the January transfer window. When asked whether he would allow Jesus to leave, the Arsenal boss said: &#8220;No, I don&#8217;t consider that, and especially with the situation we have right now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;I think Gabby has a lot to offer to the team, and he is proving that straight away in the first minutes that he was available to play.
